Lead Software Developer (fully remote or “hybrid”)

 

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to join a newly created department and participate in an exciting period of growth. On offer is the chance to work fully remotely from anywhere within the UK, or a hybrid of being office based in Bridgend (after the pandemic) and working remotely – whatever suits you best, within a semi technically agnostic role!

 

You will also have a key role into the shaping the team, products and the coding environment, methodologies, and best practices. As well as a competitive salary and benefits package within a highly friendly and supportive environment.

 

In this role, the Lead Software Developer will play a key role in the discovery, coding and building, testing, roll-out and maintenance of online applications and tools created for clients. The applications created will be varied and help clients to be more efficient. Some of these applications will support existing services and some will stand alone. The company runs sophisticated software systems such as CRM, finance applications, CMSs and analytics & reporting. Understanding the user journey and how data flows through these systems will be key to the success of a good implementation of any development work.


The company have goals to become the industry leaders within their field and create a unique and innovative service to their clients. We are open on experience and technology (although PHP and Angular ideally), as long as you are an experienced Developer who has lots of ideas and will be comfortable shaping the future of the team and products then please apply!

 

Required skills/experience:

 

  • Experience with multiple development languages and techniques (PHP, Angular/React, JavaScript, MySQL, HTML, CSS etc.) – ideally with high proficiency of PHP and Angular, however candidates with extensive experience in other technologies but who has the right attitude and a wealth of ideas are more than welcome to apply
  • Strong experience of unit integration and integration testing
  • Creation and documentation of coding standards and processes
  • Highly motivated individual
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of modern CMSs
  • Ability to implement and use user tacking scripts and services
  • Effective use of coding and debug tools, versioning control, automation and development environments
