GIS Specialist – MapInfo Transformation/Migration
Job Title: GIS Specialist – MapInfo Transformation/Migration
Location: London (Onsite)
Type: Contract (3 months)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled GIS Specialist with strong experience in MapInfo to support a 3-month data transformation and migration project based in London. This role will involve working onsite with the team to manage the migration of geospatial data, projects, and workflows within the MapInfo ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform data transformation and migration within the MapInfo environment.
- Convert data between different MapInfo formats and other GIS-compatible formats.
- Reproject and transform spatial data across various coordinate systems.
- Migrate existing projects, including layers, styles, scripts, and queries, to new MapInfo versions or platforms.
- Develop and optimize scripts using MapBasic or other tools to automate workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data compatibility and migration issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure successful migration and project delivery.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with MapInfo Professional and related GIS software.
- Strong understanding of spatial data formats (TAB files, Shapefiles, GeoJSON, etc.) and coordinate systems.
- Proficiency in MapBasic scripting for data manipulation and workflow automation.
- Demonstrated experience in GIS data conversion, migration, and integration.
- Familiarity with other GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, FME) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work onsite in London for the duration of the project.
